CMD (Cranio-Mandibular Dysfunction)

basic course

Introduction, current scientific status of dentistry regarding CMD, anatomy, physiology / neurophysiology / pathophysiology
Dental visual and tactile findings → TMJ / tooth status
Training the visual findings (e.g. abrasions, angel classes, dental and skeletal center, etc.).
Introduction to splint therapy, explanation of splint therapy and kinematics of the temporomandibular joints.
In the course, theory and practice alternate, practice share approx. 30 - 40%

Mediation of the neurophysiological basis of the CMD disease, anamnesis, assessment, red flags, mediation of the connections of the somatic dysfunctions

of the temporomandibular joint (s) (acute stage, chronified stage), assessment and therapeutic steps of diagnosis, treatment, review of treatment in practice.
the TMJ, the OAA complex, the Ossa temporale, and the myofascial structures of the TMJ (Levator group bds.)
Treatment strategies, practical training with different subjects (course participants).
Approximately 80% practice, 20% theory
Advanced course

Influence of the visceral structures on the temporomandibular joints / occlusion.
Theoretical introduction, anamnesis, finding, red flags

Practice: palpation, therapy steps, therapeutic techniques. This is done in sections; Viscerum, subdiaphragmatic organs, obdominal diaphragm, mediastinum (including the ribs), upper thoracic apparatus, and the orofascial region (ventral neck region) → hyoid bone (including neurophysiologically important structures) and floor of the mouth.

Influence of the maxilla on the occlusion / funct. Connections Mandibula / Maxilla assessment, therapy, therapy review, introduction to orthodontics from an osteopathic point of view, explanation of somatic / visceral influences on facial development / respectively the maxilla position, therapeutic consequences.

Bringing together the two parts of the course, practice: Practical practice on different subjects (participants) → Findings and treatment, analysis of the results, functional / therapeutic consequences.

Transmission of information to dentistry and orthodontics, explanation of splint therapy, its review, and information to dentistry / orthodontics.
Approximately 80% practice, 20% theory
